Day 71-74 June 22-26 Crater Lake National Park, Oregon

Crater Lake has the most beautiful dark blue water we’ve ever seen, with our stay at Crater Lake early in the season there was a lot of snow throughout the park the road the circles the lake was partially closed not because of snow but there was some debris on the road from the winter months unfortunately the road did not fully reopen although we were able to travel a portion of the road from the south side and north side  but not the furthest most east side of the lake. The temperature was chilly in the mornings but warmed to a comfortable temperature by lunch time.

The Lake doesn’t have any rivers leaving the lake but there are many springs that drain the lake through out the summer below is one of those springs it’s amazing how much water is flowing from the spring and everything is so green with lots of moss growing on everything.

During our stay we were able to see one great sunrise from the west rim with a great view of the lake and reflection of the sky on the water

While our photographing one morning I ran across a Yellow-bellied Marmot that was a little shy he only stayed around a couple of minutes before hiding with in the rocks

Our stay at Crater Lake was short due to 4 days of rain in the forecast at the end of our planned stay so we decided to move on to Mt Hood in Oregon
